The Lebanese society, as a collection of minorities is an extremely divided community with different religions, sects, and beliefs. This will result in a race between mixed cultures with a wide range of intelligence and understanding of worldwide relationships. This partitioned society reflects its differences at all aspects of life; in other words, politics, social believes and media. However, it does not uphold those differences as an advantage. Instead of uniting together, people got The Lebanese people have not learned to live together nor adapt to the fact that difference does not harm. This bad habit started a long time ago, and caused a terrible and damaging civil war. The Lebanese civil war was a different type of war. It made Lebanon a battle field for powers and groups beyond Lebanon. It started for religious reasons, and ended in 1990. ( Harb,I, 2005) The last one was due to the involvement of Syria and I srael. The funny part is that the people still follow those leaders that lead them to a war. Lebanese are passing through hard times, and in hard times people tend to extreme measures. Now Lebanon is separated into extreme categories. Each category is set by a sect, with one main leader. Each one of those parties must have a propaganda plan based on a certain ideology. The journalists working for those stations and the stations them selves are not seen as independent producers they are representatives of political movements and they are open to attack or oppose any factions going on in Lebanon. Huzballah consider themselves the protector of Lebanon and think they have the right to carry weapons not owned by the army. To keep that image floating into peoples minds, Al Manar broadcasts filmed Huzballah soldiers firing missiles and playing militia games in fake battle fields and some real ones (During the 14 July war). The idea behind those featured films is to show the strength of Huzballah and how they are needed for the safety of Lebanese people. Here they are playing the game of making the people feel the security and protection under the power of Hezbollah. Al Manar also repeats images of the suffering Palestinian people. These features remind the people of the other reason why Huzballah is found. Basically it shows how supportive Huzballah is to supporting countries especially weak ones, and this implies that he could be of help to the weak and in need from the Lebanese people. Although joining with men's organizations is a difficult process that involves compromise, merging with these organizations helps to land big television contracts, gives greater publicity, and brings in endorsements, advertisers and investors. The lack of these benefits was among the key factors in the failure of the ABL. Inversely, these are the reasons for the successes of the WNBA and women's sports in the Olympics. Throughout the history of female athletics merging with male sports organizations has not always been a pleasant experience. In 1982 the AIAW merged with the NCAA, despite the NCAA fighting tooth and nail to try and find ways out of Title IX, an act of Congress that required Universities to provide equal funding for women's athletics. Domestic abuse has touched the lives of most people, whether the victim was themselves, a family member, or a friend. They’ve seen it happen to countless women and men too. It’s incredibly important to start education of domestic abuse awareness early, because the effects of abuse go far deeper into the lives of survivors than is acknowledged, and the effects can be present for years after the abuse stops. Even teenagers -- still literal children -- are at risk for this new epidemic. Most teenagers have heard the statistic â€Å"one in three†. It’s in high school bathrooms, hallways, and locker rooms. They know this means that one in three teenage relationships is abusive. What they don’t know, however, goes much deeper. The single worst deterrent to domestic abuse prevention is the lack of acknowledgment, and that problem starts at home. In 2009, NBC News quoted Marjorie Gilberg, director of teen-violence prevention organization Break The Cycle, saying ‘â€Å"There’s definitely a lack of awareness about the prevalence of abuse among teens in their relationships,†Ã¢â‚¬â„¢ (â€Å"Most States†). Only 19% of parents firmly believe that teenage dating violence is a prevalent issue (â€Å"Dating Abuse Statistics†). And while 82% of parents believe they would know if their child was experiencing dating abuse, 58% of parents could not correctly identify the signs. Loveisrespect, an organization dedicated to providing accurate information about dating, healthy behavior, and abuse, makes the bold statement that college students are ill-equipped to cope with dating abuse. Fifty-seven percent of college students say that dating abuse is problematic to identify, and fifty-eight percent of college students say that they wouldn’t know how to help a victim currently experiencing dating abuse.With nearly half (43%) of dating college women experiencing violent/abusive behaviors, this is information that needs to be distributed (â€Å"Get the Facts and Figures†).
